Beck’s “Movie Review: Kick-Ass 2” Fails to Pick Up the Pace

In response to Jeff Beck’s 772‑word review of Kick-Ass 2 on

Jeff Beck’s “Movie Review: Kick-Ass 2” dishes out an insufficient and ultimately displeasing read for its audience.

*meta-spoiler alert* Beck is still big time hung up on this movie’s predecessor. Out of eight paragraphs, he references the first Kick Ass at least once in all but two paragraphs. Readers will tire of his back-and-forth discussion and are absolutely entitled to give up once they hit their threshold.

*meta-spoiler alert*, part deux: Principal scenes are thrown carelessly in front of the eyes of the readers, leaving no way to forget what they witnessed. Even character arcs are not safe from Beck and his overindulgence on spoilers.

When Beck does find the time to veer away from ruining key aspects of this film for his readers, there is literally nothing that is worthy of special mention. The language is reminiscent of reading a book report. It fails to engage readers and doesn’t even attempt to find a colorful, unique voice.

Beck’s Movie Review reads as bland as the webpage it is featured on—boring background and tons of white space. There is no escape for readers, as the only photo included is small and fails to grab any attention. Readers will save from the misery of this review by simply not giving this review the green light.
