Rene Rodriguez’s “Kick-Ass 2” Is Full of Razor-Sharp Insight

In response to Rene Rodriguez’s 203‑word review of Kick-Ass 2 on Miami Herald

By ,

Rene Rodriguez dishes out a plate of the horrible truth in his magnetic “Kick-Ass 2”.

Rodriguez makes his case in the first biting paragraph by pinpointing a specific scene, one that is supposed to be funny, and brilliantly describes how it encompasses the whole film. These bold and unsparing words show why Rodriguez is a force to be reckoned with, and one of the true protectors of cinema.

The direction of the film is of crucial importance to Rodriguez, and his striking scrutiny raises important and thought-provoking questions in the overall modern world of film.

The general sense of humor of the director is attacked with vigor, and the brilliance of the first successful film is examined with care and respect. Poor gags and depressing humor bring out the beast in Rene Rodriguez, and his piercing words pick apart the social acceptance of poor comedy.

Despite the ferocious tone of “Kick Ass 2”, Mr. Rodriguez  offers a hand to the innocent actors and valiantly defends their honor. The stories of unforeseen violence and childish antics are brought to life, and Rodriguez pleads with the reader not to blame each and every soul on screen for what he describes as a woeful cinematic experience.  It makes for an enlightening and powerful review reading experience.
