Bill Zwecker Is a Kind Gentleman in “Second Helping,” but Not Helpful

In response to Bill Zwecker’s 392‑word review of Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 on Chicago Sun-Times

By ,

Bill Zwecker is calm and cool in his latest artistic endeavor, “Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2: Second helping just as good,” however the critic is a little too relaxed to bring any insight to the table. The consumer will be left hungry, and listening to “Hunger Strike” by Temple of the Dog on repeat.

All it takes is one look at Second Helping, to realize that Zwecker has a consistent paragraph game, however the reader will question the potency of this literary meal.

The visual appearance of Second Helping is disturbing, as the critic fails to provide a single glorious image to capture the vibrancy and youth of the film. A tiny trailer is tucked in the corner, but the reader will likely brush it off.

Second Helping moves along nicely with the gentle and easy prose of Zwecker, however the thin substance will be a problem when confronted with the big appetite of the reader.

One will surely recognize that the critic appreciates the film in Second Helping, and Zwecker is quick to note that he doesn’t want to spoil anything. Unfortunately, there is zero analysis for anyone to bite on, and the critic seems to only want to convey that the film is a good time.

Second Helping is a pleasant offering, but will leave one dreaming of a second helping.
