Rima Sabina Aouf’s “Kick-Ass 2” is an exploration of self. The reader is forced to ask themselves from the very beginning if they find themselves in the same boat as the reviewer.

The humor starts within the first third of this piece. It’s more of a subtle the humor rather than in your face. This fits in nicely with the overall tone of the review. Aouf’s words bring a nice chuckle each time they return to a non-running, running joke (it’ll make sense once you read it.)

She goes through the plot with minimal spoilers and writes the briefest of brief compare and contrast section 0n the main characters that gives the reader just enough context to see where she is coming from. She manages to keep things straight where others might have muddled things up.

The way Aouf chooses to end this piece was review’s biggest mistake. A simple addition of another sentence or two to tie everything up would have been a better option.

Speaking of options, the presentation of this review is full of them. There are two for readers to click on: a video link that takes you to a page with the official trailer and a map link that leads you to a map image of which theater the reviewer saw the film. The map gives this review a nice local touch without making non-local readers feeling out of place. Bravo.
